As the Conestoga Ranch team prepares to welcome visitors for the Summer 2016 season at Bear Lake, our resident yogi and fitness guru Carolina Linkogle is looking forward to sharing her passion for wellness with guests. We had a chance to sit down with Carolina to get visitors better acquainted with her before they arrive for their glamping getaways.

  1. What made you want to team up with Conestoga Ranch to offer yoga and boot camp for their guests?

Wow, lots of things. The Ranch is something new that Bear Lake needed. I look at it as an opportunity to better myself and help others to make positive change, both mentally and physically.  I love the ideas that Tom and the other partners have to bring more amenities to the Lake and the trust and faith they have placed in me to help bring that about. I’m so thankful for the opportunity.

  1. What inspired you to get started in a fitness career?

The joy and pleasure that I get from being active. Being able to feel good and see myself in a better light and the pleasure that I get from doing something positive and healthy inspires me.

  1. Describe your philosophy when it comes to yoga and what kind of practice guests can expect?

Yoga is feeling, it is gaining personal strength through practice and discipline, and developing patience through meditation. It is listening to your internal self, learning, growing and advancing.  Your age, fitness level and culture are not important when it comes to enjoying yoga. Others may be able to do a pose perfectly and you may not. The important thing is to do what you can, to listen and come to know your body and mind, to challenge yourself, to learn to put ego aside and learn to love deeper.

  1. Who can benefit from starting their day at Bear Lake with yoga and why?

Everybody, from the smallest child to the oldest adult.  There is something positive for everyone.  It allows you to be you no matter who you are and become a better version of yourself.

  1. Can you tell us about the types of exercises boot camp participants will engage in?

All sorts of classic exercises that condition and keep you moving and energized from push ups, burpies and other body weight exercises to cardio moves and other calisthenics.  It’s a real total body workout.

  1. Who are the yoga and boot camp classes appropriate for?

All of the classes and exercises can be modified for just about anyone.  With that being said, especially with the boot camp, if you have a medical condition or anything of the sort you should consult a physician first.

  1. What do you hope guests take away from your fitness classes?

A positive and different experience over all.  I am a Latina woman with a lot of spunk and character. I love to have fun and hope that others will enjoy themselves, feel good and learn something new.

  1. What do you love about being a fitness instructor?

What I most enjoy about my profession is helping people feel, helping them make a positive change that can be physical, mental and even spiritual.  Seeing people happy is truly rewarding for me.

  1. What are your favorite activities to enjoy in the Bear Lake area?

Hiking, Paddle boarding, running on the bike path, sunbathing on the beach, snowshoeing in the winter, and the beautiful drive through Logan Canyon.  I enjoy the beauty of nature all around me and most of all sharing those activities with my family.

  1. When and where will the yoga classes take place at Conestoga Ranch?

The practices will be held Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings at the Event Tent. There is just a $10 charge per person, and mats are provided. Groups are also welcome to schedule private practices at other times. For more info: https://conestogaranch.com/recreation/
